Holistic Immigration Hub Interdisciplinary Fellowship
Fellowship Overview (Academic year 2026-2027)
The Holistic Immigration Hub Fellowship is an interdisciplinary leadership and professional development program designed to support the planning, programming, logistics, outreach, and execution of an annual summit and external programs focused on immigration, migration, global displacement, and human rights. Situated within the Holistic Immigration Hub, students selected for this fellowship will design and manage academic and community events that bridge multiple disciplines and professional perspectives to address immigration and human rights needs though legal, educational, medical, social work, and public health frameworks to advance the goals of the Holistic Immigration Hub.
The fellowship provides:
- Hands-on event planning and program management experience
- Leadership and project coordination opportunities
- Opportunities to engage community organizations, scholars, activists, and policymakers
- Collaborative learning across different disciplines
By the end of the fellowship, fellows should be able to:
- Plan and execute complex events
- Manage timelines and collaborative projects
- Conduct outreach and partnership development
- Facilitate dialogue across diverse stakeholders
- Develop communications and marketing strategies
- Practice public speaking and moderation skills
- Produce portfolio materials documenting their contributions
The fellowship position is open to current Loyola University Chicago students and that the current baseline rate is $16.60 per hour, with an anticipated increase to $17.00 per hour for Fall 2026.
Fellow Responsibilities
- Immigration and Human Rights Summit Programming
- Collaborate on summit development through three primary roles
- Support promotional efforts
- Attend pre-summit events
- Participate in summit facilitation and operations
- Develop and complete reflective and evaluative assignments
- Develop and contribute to final reporting and outcome documents
- Event Coordination
- Design and coordinate smaller public events across LUC campuses
- Team Collaboration
- Attend weekly fellowship meetings
- Participate in strategic planning sessions
- Participate in community engagement activities

Expected Time Commitment
8-10 hours a week
Location
The Holistic Immigration Hub is located at the Water Tower Campus. Meetings will be mostly virtual. Work will occur onsite and across all LUC campuses.
