Stritch - Genomics
Welcome!
The goal of the Loyola Genomics Facility is to enhance scholarship and facilitate biomedical research at Loyola by providing and maintaining a technological and analytical infrastructure for state-of-the-art genomics services.
Experimental Design
LGF is available for consultation for experimental design and grant preparation for DNA sequencing, transcriptomic, and microbiome experiments and data analysis.
DNA/RNA Extraction
DNA or RNA extractions can be performed by the LGF from tissue, blood, or cell culture and many LGF services can begin with a single isolated cell.
DNA Sequencing
Sequencing library preparation and DNA sequencing can be entirely performed by the LGF on our Illumina MiSeq instruments. The following DNA sequencing services are provided by the LGF:
- Bacterial/mitochondrial genomic sequencing/re-sequencing
- Digital transcriptomics
- Gene panel sequencing from genomes or transcriptomes for gene abundance, expression levels, alternative splice events, or SNPS/INDELs.
- Bacterial or fungal microbiome community identification
- Amplicon sequencing
Data Analysis
LGF is prepared to assist with analysis of sequencing data and integration with multi-omics or clinical data. LGF offers data analysis packaged in Block rates or available as percent effort in grant proposals.
Publication Assistance
The LGF is available for assisting with preparation and submission of your final manuscript by providing high-quality figures and publication-ready text.
