Immigrant Health Committee (IHC)
Immigrant Health Committee
The primary goal of the Immigrant Health Committee (IHC) is to equip current and future health professionals with the tools, language, and cultural sensitivity to work alongside and care for our immigrant patients. Moreover, IHC aims to meet the growing needs of Stritch DACA students and allies.
Our committee will prioritize:
- Educating the Stritch Community - Panels, workshops and other form of educational opportunities will be provided for the Stritch community to learn more about the complexities of immigrant health. Resources will be available to improve patient interactions and quality of care.
- Shadowing and Volunteering Opportunities- IHC will collaborate with student organization, clerkship sites, and local clinics for medical students to have first hand experience.
- Continuing to support DACA community members- ICH will continue to foster a safe space for current DACA medical and pre-medical students by promoting mentorship, advising, and community-building.
