Testing Ground

THIS SECTION IS FOR UMC DEVELOPERS ONLY
This area is designated for pre-deployment testing of content types engineered by the UMC Digital Team. The testing process verifies technical integrity, design fidelity, and system compatibility to ensure all content types meet production standards before rollout. All components are validated for functionality, accessibility, and design compliance prior to deployment and distribution to site content coordinators.

Instructions

NOTE: Please follow the folder structure created for the Universal Hero Video for each content type that you will create under the Content Type branch.

STEP 1: Copy Content Type (CT) Panel code from GITHUB to T4 (under this branch) using CT: Universal Code Only; Publish and Run First set of Testing; Record Findings, fix and adjust code.
NOTE: Do not advance to STEP 2 until the the code is final and passes accessibility testing.

STEP 2: Duplicate existing content type so you can manipulate and apply new code changes (append "-NEW" to CT name).
NOTE: For brand new CTs, follow steps to creating new content types then proceed to STEP 3.

STEP 3: Add new content to your page using the new CT. Publish and Run test again. If everything passes, proceed to Step 4.

STEP 4: Create backup of existing CT code and save to hard drive in case you need to roll back. Skip this step for brand new CTs.

STEP 5: Apply new code (and new elements as needed) to existing CT. Skip this step for brand new CTs.

STEP 6: Replace the content on your test page using the correct CT accordingly. Publish and Run Test again. Roll back to old CT code if needed.

STEP 7: Delete the new CT you created in STEP 2 after you've applied the new code to existing CT in STEP 5.
