Luigi B. Amendola
Vice President for University Advancement
Luigi B. Amendola has served as Vice President for University Advancement since May 2025. As a member of the University Leadership Council, he works closely with the president, Loyola leadership, deans and faculty members as well as the Board of Trustees to advance the strategic philanthropic goals of the University. Amendola has a successful record of securing significant gifts, developing fundraising plans and leading campaigns, stewarding relationships with donors, engaging new donor relationships, building and leading productive teams, collaborating effectively with academic and other university leaders to expand donor participation and support, and supporting broad-based alumni engagement.
Amendola came to Loyola in 2021 as Assistant Vice President for Development and played a key role in advancing the University’s philanthropic efforts. Prior to Loyola, Luigi worked at Lewis University for nine years–five as Vice President for Advancement and four as Associate Vice President–where he was responsible for that institution’s entire development and alumni relations activities and served as a senior university leader. Additionally, Luigi served 12 years at the University of Illinois at Chicago in both central and school-based major gift and development officer roles.
Amendola received a BS with honors from Lewis University and an MBA from the University of Illinois at Chicago.
