The Army Nurse Corps Association (ANCA) Scholarship Program will be selecting up to 15 baccalaureate or higher degree nursing and anesthesia students to receive $3,000 scholarships. To be eligible, applicants should meet one of the following criteria:

For 2012, the scholarship program is named in memory of Captain Joshua M. McClimans, a member of the United States Army Reserve who, in April 2011, gave his life for his country during his deployment to Afghanistan. He was a native of Jamestown, PA and a graduate of the University of Akron School of Nursing in Ohio.

CKSF Nursing Scholarship
The Nursing Scholarship was developed to help students prepare for final exams and earn some of their tuition back in the process. The topic for this scholarship is Anatomy & Physiology. The multiple choice quizzes were written to align with commonly used college level text books. Quiz questions are based on straight forward core concepts that students learn in standard introductory classes. All U.S. undergraduate nursing majors are eligible.
How it works:
Participants must register with CKSF to take the scholarship quizzes. There are three quizzes in the Challenge Round. Scores from each quiz are added together for each participant and the top 25% of scorers will be advanced to the Championship Round. The Championship Round quiz consists of questions from all three topics. The highest scoring student from the Championship Round will receive a $250 scholarship.

Chicago Journalists Association: Journalism Scholarship
The Chicago Journalists Association is pleased to announce that applications are being accepted now through August 1st for its 2013 Charitable Fund Scholarship to an aspiring young journalist. Competition for this year’s $1,250 award is open to Chicago-area graduating high school seniors accepted to college or to undergraduate college students enrolled in courses that will lead to careers in journalism and communications. This includes majors in such programs as political science, economics and the liberal arts that would lead to media careers.
Financial need, professional potential and commitment to the field of journalism determine each year’s winner. Samples of work, letters of recommendation from teachers and transcripts of grades are required of all candidates. The winner of the 2013 CJA scholarship will be announced at CJA’s annual awards dinner on Friday, September 27.
The Chicago Journalists Association, formerly the Chicago Press Veterans Association, has awarded scholarships to deserving students for decades. The Nursing Scholarship Program (NSP), a program of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, Health Resources and Services Administration, Bureau of Clinician Recruitment and Service has qualified registered nurses (RNs) and nurse practitioners (NPs) across the country that have recently graduated, and are available now to serve at a facility such as yours.

Our Qualifications for the Portalfront Scholarship are as follows:

Providian Medical Scholarship
Providian Medical, a leading company in the sales and service of new and refurbished ultrasound, MRI, and CT medical equipment, is pleased to announce its first annual “Providian Medical Scholarship.” At Providian Medical, we believe that education is key for anyone preparing to enter the workplace and embark on a career. To that end, we hope to play a small part in helping students achieve their educational goals with this bi-annual $500 scholarship.
To apply for the scholarship, you must submit an original essay of up to 1,500 words that describes how medical equipment technology has changed the face of a college course and curriculum. Entries can also include a look toward the future and how this area of study will continue to evolve and advance.
Applications will be reviewed by a selection committee made up of principles and employees of Providian Medical. The decision of the panel will be based on originality, research, and quality of the essay submitted. Any student planning for a medical or veterinary career is especially encouraged to enter, however, students on any career path are also welcome to apply.
Requirements for entry:
- Must be enrolled at an accredited high school, college or university in the United States
- Must be either in your final year of high school or enrolled at the undergraduate level in “good standing”
- Must be age 16 or older
- Must be attending a U.S.-based institution
- Must maintain a cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 3.0 or higher (or equivalent)
- Entries must be post marked by June 21st for our Summer Entry Deadline or Jan 15th for our Winter Entry Deadline

2011-12 TESP Interactive Application Launched
The interactive application for 2011-12 Teacher Education Scholarship Programs (TESP), used to apply for the Illinois Future Teacher Corps (IFTC) Program and the Minority Teachers of Illinois (MTI) Scholarship Program, is available at collegezone.com.
As a reminder, only applicants with a valid digital ID from the State of Illinois will be able to access the online application. Applicants who obtained a digital ID for a previous year's TESP application process will use that same digital ID this year. Detailed information regarding the IFTC Program and the MTI Scholarship Program and the application process, including 2011-12 teacher shortage disciplines for the IFTC Program, is available within the ISAC Gift Assistance Programs area.

Walker Scholarship
The Darleen J. and Robert L. Walker Scholarship Fund was established to provide financial assistance to students studying law or entering law school anywhere in Illinois or Milwaukee, Wisc. or St. Louis, Mo.
While scholarships are open to all, strong preference is given to applicants who are Masons, who come from Masonic families or are former residents of the Masonic Children's Home in LaGrange, Ill.
