Loyola University Chicago's Graduate School of Business is the only program that participates in the U-Pass program during the summer months.
The CTA U-Pass is your ticket to unlimited riding aboard CTA buses and trains. It offers all full time undergraduates and graduate students enrolled in participating programs unlimited use and an unparalleled opportunity to take advantage of everything Chicago has to offer. No cash is needed. It's your connection to shopping, sports events, social activities, art and entertainment centers, and anything else that grabs your attention.
STUDENTS WHO QUALIFY FOR THE U-PASS PROGRAM
The following students participate in the CTA U-Pass program:
All undergraduate students enrolled in 12 or more credit hours at both Loyola Campuses (Lake Shore and Water Tower)
* College of Arts and Sciences
* School of Business Administration
* School of Communication
* Marcella Niehoff School of Nursing
* St. Joseph Seminary
* School of Education
* School of Social Work
Graduate students enrolled in 8 or more credit hours at the Loyola Campuses
* School of Law
* School of Social Work
* Institute of Pastoral Studies
* Graduate School of Education
* Graduate School of Arts and Sciences
The U-Pass program is not available to any students enrolled in Loyola's Rome Center Campus or in any other programs located in foreign countries. Also, students enrolled in the Loyola University Medical Center, Educational Cohorts, the School of Continuing and Professional Studies, and Social Work Carthage programs will not participate in the CTA U-Pass program.
A Loyola University ID is required to pick up a U-Pass.
DISTRIBUTION SITES AND HOURS SPRING 2012
Law School Distribution:
U-Passes are effective Tuesday, January 17th. Distribution will occur on Tuesday and Wednesday, January 17-18 from 10am-6pm at the Corboy law Center, 12th floor. Pre-printed U-Passes should be available for all new and returning eligible students who meet the criteria listed above and have a student ID by December 21, 2011. Students who do not meet the criteria listed above or do not have a student ID by December 21 will need to have a pass made beginning Tuesday, January 17 at the appropriate site and time (listed above). We encourage students to check in with the Alphabetical tables to make sure that they do not have a pass pre-printed before they have another pass made. CTA will be on-site both of these days taking pictures for students without a pre-printed pass. All passes not picked up by the end of the day Wednesday, January 18 will be re-located to the 2nd floor Information Desk of the Terry Student Center (Baumhart Hall). Those students who did not receive a pre-printed pass and did not have a pass made by Wednesday, January 18 will need to wait until on or around February 10th to receive their pass.
All Other Pass Distribution (UNDERGRAD, GRAD):
U-Passes are effective Tuesday, January 17. Pre-printed U-Passes may be picked up starting Tuesday, January 17 in the Centennial Forum Student Union Lobby from 8am- 6pm. Distribution will continue on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday (see times and locations below).

Lake Shore Campus Distribution SPRING 2012
All undergraduate students enrolled in 12 or more credit hours will pick up their U-Pass at the Lake Shore Campus. This includes students enrolled in Undergraduate Business, Communication, and Social Work. (CTA) designates that CTA will be on-site making passes.
Graduate students enrolled in 8 or more hours in the Graduate School of Arts and Science.
Tuesday, January 17 CFSU Lobby Floor (CTA) 8 a.m.- 6 p.m.
Wednesday, January 18 CFSU Lobby Floor (CTA) 8 a.m.- 6 p.m.
Thursday, January 19 CFSU- Bremner Lounge (CTA) 10 a.m. - 6 p.m.

Water Tower Campus Distribution Spring 2012
Graduate students enrolled in 8 or more hours in Graduate Education, Institute of Pastoral Studies, and Graduate School of Social Work.
Tuesday, January 17-Thursday, January 19 Terry Student Center-Room 303 (CTA) 10 a.m.- 6 p.m.
Friday, January 20 Terry Student Center- Room 303 (CTA) 10 a.m.- 3 p.m.
Between January 17 and January 20, CTA will be available to make on-site U-Passes for any students who qualify but did not have a pre-printed U-Pass. Students who do not have a pre-printed U-Pass and do not have their U-Pass made during this week will not receive their U-Pass until on or around Friday, February 10. Passes will move to the Terry Student Center Information Desk after Friday, January 20 at 3PM. Passes will be available at this desk for the remainder of the spring 2012 semester.
HOW TO RECEIVE YOUR U-PASS AFTER THE FIRST WEEK OF SCHOOL
Students who have a pre-printed U-Pass (registered by December 21), but who did not pick up their U-Pass during the first week of classes, may pick up their U-Pass at their respective campus location. Passes will be available at the Centennial Forum Student Union Information at the Lake Shore Campus, and the Terry Student Center Information Desk at the Water Tower Campus.
Qualified students who do not have a pre-printed U-Pass (registered after December 21), and did not have a U-Pass made during the first week of school may pick up their U-Pass on or around Friday, February 10 at their respective campus location. An email will also be sent to these students. Passes will be available at the Centennial Forum Student Union Information at the Lake Shore Campus, and the Terry Student Center Information Desk at the Water Tower Campus.
After the end of the business day on January 31 any student adding classes to full-time status will not be eligible for a U-Pass and will not be assessed the U-Pass fee. Anyone dropping below full-time status after this date will not be deactivated for the remainder of the semester and the U-Pass fee will not be removed from the student account. Students who picked up a U-Pass but dropped to part-time status prior to January 31 will have their U-Pass deactivated on or around Monday, February 13 and will not be assessed a U-Pass fee.
U-PASS FEE
The U-Pass fee is $102 per semester for Loyola Undergraduate and Graduate students, $108 for Law School students, and is included in student tuition fees valid from Saturday, August 28th until the last day of final exams each semester. This fee is non-refundable.
HOW IT WORKS
On the bus: Insert and remove your U-Pass into the bus fare card machine on the right side of the fare box with the magnetic strip facing you and the blue arrow pointing down. Make sure you do not insert it into the dollar bill slot because it will be captured.
On the train: Insert and remove your U-Pass into the turnstile card slot with the magnetic strip facing you and the blue arrow pointing down. When the green 'enter' light goes on, remove your U-Pass and go through the turnstile.
RULES AND CONDITIONS
* The school name, student name, photo, and expiration date must appear on the card.
* U-Pass is limited to exclusive use by the original full-time student card owner.
* U-Pass use is subject to applicable tariffs, conditions, rules, regulations, policies, and procedures that the CTA may adopt using discretion.
* If any conditions are violated, the pass will be confiscated for the remaining term without reimbursement.
* U-Pass is NOT valid on PACE or Metra service.
LOST OR STOLEN
To request a replacement U-Pass, students must bring their valid Loyola ID and $50 fee (cash, credit card, or money order only) to the CTA's Customer Service Center at 567 W Lake Street which is open Monday through Friday between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. A replacement U-Pass will be sent to Loyola University Chicago within 5 - 7 days.
CTA will replace lost or stolen U-Pass cards only ONCE per academic term. The replacement fee of $50 is non-refundable. Students will not be issued any temporary fare. Upon receipt of the replacement U-Pass, students will be contacted via email to pick up their U-Pass at either the Centennial Forum Student Union Information Desk (LSC) or the Terry Student Union Information Desk (WTC).
CAPTURED IN FARE EQUIPMENT
On CTA Buses:
The card will be collected. Students will be asked to complete a Report of Captured Fare Card (Form 3027). Students will be allowed to ride free and given a copy of the report.
Students must bring a copy of the form and student ID to CTA's Customer Service Center at 567 W Lake Street (Monday - Friday, 8 a.m. - 4 p.m.) to request a replacement U-Pass. The replacement U-Pass will be sent to Loyola University Chicago in 5 - 7 business days. Because the student inserted the card into the wrong slot, they will not be issued any temporary fare. Upon receipt of the replacement U-Pass, students will be contacted via email to pick up their U-Pass at either the Centennial Forum Student Union Information Desk (LSC) or the Terry Student Center Information Desk (WTC).
On CTA Rail Stations:
The card will be collected. Students will be asked to complete a Report of Captured Fare Card (Form 3027). Students will be issued a $4.50 transit card and a copy of the report.
Students must bring a copy of the form and student ID to CTA's Customer Service Center at 567 W Lake Street (Monday - Friday, 8 a.m. - 4 p.m.) to request a replacement U-Pass. When they present the form to the customer service agent, you will be issued an unlimited five-day transit card. The replacement U-Pass will be sent to Loyola University Chicago in 5 - 7 business days. Because the student inserted the card into the wrong slot, they will not be issued any temporary fare. Upon receipt of the replacement U-Pass, students will be contacted via email to pick up their U-Pass at either the Centennial Forum Student Union Information Desk (LSC) or the Terry Student Center Information Desk (WTC).
DEFECTIVE, DAMAGED, OR DEMAGNETIZED
On CTA Buses:
The bus operator will allow the student to complete the ride for free. However, students must bring the damaged card and student ID to CTA's Customer Service Center at 567 W Lake Street (Monday - Friday, 8 a.m. - 4 p.m.) to request a replacement U-Pass. The damaged card will be collected and the student will be issued an unlimited five-day transit pass. The replacement U-Pass will be sent to Loyola University Chicago in 5 - 7 business days. Students will not be charged the $50 replacement fee. Upon receipt of the replacement pass, students will be contacted via email to pick up their U-Pass at either the Centennial Forum Student Union Information Desk (LSC) or the Terry Student Center Information Desk (WTC).
At CTA Rail Stations:
The student should present their U-Pass to the customer service assistant to have it inspected. However, students must bring the damaged card and student ID to CTA's Customer Service Center at 567 W Lake Street (Monday - Friday, 8 a.m. - 4 p.m.) to request a replacement U-Pass. The damaged card will be collected and the student will be issued an unlimited five-day transit pass. The replacement U-Pass will be sent to Loyola University Chicago in 5 - 7 business days. Students will not be charged the $50 replacement fee.
