About

Originally from Cleveland Ohio, Lisa received her B.A in Political Science and English and a minor in Leadership Studies from The Ohio State University in Columbus, Ohio. Go Bucks! She then went on to pursue her Master's Degree in Student Affairs in Higher Education at Miami University in Oxford Ohio. During her time in graduate school she worked in the Office of Community Engagement Service and the Office of Student Activities. After graduation, she served as a Coordinator for Campus Life specifically working with diversity, education, and training at Illinois Institute of Technology in Chicago.

Lisa is passionate about sharing stories of those who have been silenced and asset-based approaches when working with students with marginalized identities. She works each day to disrupt systems of oppression and dismantle dominant narratives about race and identity through empowerment, storytelling, and relationship building. Her research interests are multiracial student development and inclusive leadership. Outside of SDMA, you can find Lisa at Barre Code, shopping to find the best deal, or eating at her favorite Chicago bakeries.
