Open to teachers and teacher leaders, the Instructional Coaching Certificate can be pursued on a part-time basis. The coaching certificate program consists of four 3-credit courses, which are all offered online.

To enroll in the coaching certificate online at Loyola Chicago University, you must have a teaching license, credential, or certificate or comparable credential as well as two years of teaching experience.

With rolling admission, you can start the coaching certificate program in the fall or spring semester. Two classes are offered in fall and two in spring, so you could take just one class per semester until you complete all four classes. Or you could take two classes per semester and finish in one calendar year.

Application requirements for the Instructional Coaching Certificate include:

Statement of Purpose Details

Your statement should be no more than 2 pages (double spaced) and describe your professional goals as they relate to curriculum and instruction in your classroom and school. You should also include life or teaching experiences that have influenced your view of social justice.

Official Documents

Official transcripts are those that are sent directly by the college/university to Loyola University Chicago. Transcripts sent by the student to Loyola are considered unofficial documents, and while they may be utilized for initial review of your application, official transcripts are still required. Official documents should be sent by the institution to gradapp@luc.edu.

International Applicant Requirements

An official English language proficiency exam is required for international applicants whose native language is not English. If you have non-U.S. educational credentials, you are required to submit an official transcript evaluation. The transcript evaluation cannot be waived.
