IPS Awarded $1MM to Launch the Miguel Pro, S.J. Pastoral Protagonism Initiative
On the feast day of Blessed Miguel Pro, S.J. and with great Thanksgiving, we share exciting news: the Lilly Endowment has award $1MM to IPS to launch next year the “Miguel Pro, S.J. Iniciativa de Protagonismo Pastoral.” With interlocking projects that build on our credit and non-credit Spanish-language formation programs, the Miguel Pro Initiative will help IPS nurture and deepen mutually transformative relationships and serve increasing populations who face barriers to access formation for ministerial leadership, pastoral training, and spiritual guidance. Professor Emeritus Peter Gilmour is the 2014 Aggiormento Award winner for the Institute of Pastoral Studies at Loyola University Chicago. Gilmour has been involved in IPS since the program began in 1964, and recounts on his experiences in IPS and his time at Loyola. Watch Video
