Online Certificate in Curriculum and Pedagogy in Higher Education
The Certificate in Curriculum and Pedagogy in Higher Education is designed for higher education instructors who want to improve their pedagogical practice as well as those with future plans to teach in institutions of higher education. The program is completely online, allowing students to complete their coursework from anywhere around the world.
You'll be prepared to effectively teach adult learners in the post-secondary student populations. This certificate develops pedagogical and curricular skills based on the Jesuit principles of context, experience, reflection, action, and evaluation. This is the only Jesuit institution to offer such a certificate.
By engaging in reflective, action-oriented classrooms with a focus on social justice – we prepare visionary graduates to make a difference in their worlds through the implementation of socially just pedagogical practices.

Curriculum
The program consists of four required core courses along with a final capstone project. All of following coursework is completed fully online.

ELPS 430: Curriculum and Pedagogy in Higher Education
ELPS 433: Student Development Theory In Higher Education
ELPS 432: Toward Social Justice in Higher Education
ELPS 502: Fundamentals of College Teaching
Final Capstone Project
Students must also complete the final capstone project that will:
- Identify the experiences, people, and places in the program that have impacted them personally and professionally
- Analyze their program experiences and articulate the major takeaways from their learning
- Examine, apply, and address the impact of the certificate program on their practice as a social justice educator
Students must complete the final capstone project in conjunction with the last required course they take in consultation with Dra. Aurora Chang (CCPHE Program Advisor)
