Caroline Kaschak

2026 Fulbright Fogarty grantee

Congratulations to Caroline Kaschak, a who was awarded a 2027 MD/MPH Candidate Fulbright-Fogarty grant to study in Jamaica!

When asked what winning the Fulbright Fogarty Grant means to them, Caroline said:

"My Fulbright project, Exercise-Cognitive Rehabilitation in Survivors of Severe Acute Malnutrition, will examine whether a six-month, home-based aerobic exercise intervention can improve mood, anxiety, cognition, and gut health among adult survivors of childhood severe acute malnutrition in Kingston, Jamaica. This project aligns closely with my goal of becoming a global women’s health OB-GYN because it centers the long-term health consequences of early-life adversity, nutrition, mental health, and metabolic disease. These are issues that profoundly shape women’s health across the life course. These skills will prepare me to develop sustainable, culturally responsive programs as an OB-GYN that address not only pregnancy and reproductive health, but also the broader social and biologic factors that affect women’s well-being."
