Loyola University Chicago is pleased to announce a $1 million gift from anonymous donors whose generosity will directly strengthen housing stability for students across our community. The gift provides support to the Arrupe Housing Fund and establishes the Cura Housing & Student Stability Fund. Each fund addresses the critical and growing need of students facing housing insecurity, ensuring that they have the resources to remain enrolled and continue moving toward their degrees.
The Arrupe Housing Fund supports services and programs that are critical to sustaining our students, providing on-campus room and board for students experiencing housing insecurity or homelessness, an essential resource for students who might otherwise pause or abandon their education altogether. The academic impact of housing stability is substantial. Arrupe students who live on campus achieve GPAs that average half a point higher than their peers.
The Cura Housing & Student Stability Fund extends this commitment university-wide, supporting housing stability and basic needs initiatives for all Loyola students. Resources from the fund can include room and board, academic break food assistance, emergency housing, and other needs that keep students enrolled and focused on their educational goals. Designed with flexibility at its core, the Cura Fund helps remove barriers before they derail a student's progress, supporting continued enrollment and academic success.

Philanthropic support has increased the number of available spaces for Arrupe students by 26% for the current academic year. It is a powerful reminder of what philanthropy makes possible, and of the countless ways our community continues to invest in student success.
