The easiest way to make a gift to Loyola is to make a gift online.

To make a gift by phone, please call 800.424.1513.

You can also mail a check made out to Loyola University Chicago. Please include a note telling us how to direct your gift. Before mailing a check, please check with your employer about gift matching opportunities.

For cash wire instructions

Please contact the Office of Gift Processing at (800) 424-1513 or at luc-devgift@LUC.edu for instructions on executing a wire transfer. We will ensure that the gift will be properly received and that it will be directed to the proper area you wish to support. We will need the donor's name, the gift designation, and the bank's or broker's name, if applicable. As always, thank you for your support of Loyola.

For securities (held by you) instructions

If you hold securities in certificate form, you will need to sign a stock power form for each certificate you contribute. You can obtain a stock power form from your broker or a printable stock power form is located here. When mailing the certificates, use two envelopes. In the first envelope, place the unendorsed certificates along with a brief letter of instruction that includes your name, name of the stock(s) and the number of shares to be donated and how you would like your gift to be used. In the second envelope, place the completed stock power(s). Send them to us on the same day via first-class mail.

To authorize your gift to Loyola, please complete and sign a Letter of Instruction 2022.

Please contact the Office of Gift Processing at (800) 424-1513 or at luc-devgift@LUC.edu to let us know that your gift is in progress. Your gift date is the postmark date of the later envelope. Your gift amount is the average of the high and low price of your stock gift on that date.

For mutual funds

Please contact the Office of Gift Processing at (800) 424-1513 or at luc-devgift@LUC.edu for information about making a gift of mutual fund shares, closely held stock, or other forms of stock ownership.

IRA charitable rollover gifts

Thank you for your interest in supporting Loyola University Chicago through an IRA Qualified Charitable Distribution.

If you own an Individual Retirement Account (IRA) and are over the age of 70 ½, you can donate a total of up to $100,000 per year to charitable organizations like Loyola University of Chicago and receive tax benefits regardless of whether you itemize deductions on your income tax returns. You can direct your gift to provide scholarship or program support. It is important to work with your retirement fund custodian to make sure that the Qualified Charitable Distribution transfers directly to Loyola.

Please use this IRA Qualified Charitable Distribution Information Sheet as a guide to request that your IRA custodian send your distribution directly to us. Contact our Office of Gift Planning for more information at 1-800-424-1513.

Employer gift matching

If your employer has a matching gift program, you can easily increase your gift, as well as the number of lives it touches at Loyola.

For more information about matching gift possibilities, please search the database below, which will help you determine whether your company is eligible.

If your company is eligible, request a matching gift form from your employer, and send it completed and signed with your gift. We will do the rest. The impact of your gift to Loyola University Chicago may be doubled or possibly tripled! Some companies match gifts made by retirees and/or spouses.

Giving Society Membership

Matching gifts generally do not count towards membership for giving societies. The primary exception for this is membership in our Founders’ Circle.

Other methods

Automatic bank withdrawal

If you wish to make a gift by Automatic Bank Withdrawal, click here to download the appropriate form. The minimum annual contribution for an ABW is $120 ($10 monthly, $30 quarterly) deducted from either your checking or savings account. For more information, please contact the Annual Giving Office at 800.424.1513.

Scheduled gifts

This option allows you to give any amount you choose over whatever period of time you wish. For example, you may choose to make a gift of $50,000 over five years (e.g. $10,000 a year).

Gifts of real estate, stock, retirement assets, or other property

Different types of gifts can bring you and your family different benefits. Gifts other than cash can trigger income, capital gains, and estate taxes, but there are many giving strategies that can keep more of your assets in your pockets while also benefiting Loyola. Our Office of Gift Planning is ready to provide you with all the help and information you need to tailor a giving strategy to best fit your circumstances and goals.
