American Bar Association Health Law Section HLBytes Opportunity!

HLBytes is a volunteer weekly news bulletin providing an overview of important health law news and developments for the Health Law Section (HLS) of the American Bar Association (ABA). The eHealth, Privacy & Security Interest Group of the ABA HLS, is looking for volunteers to assist in authoring our weekly contribution to HLBytes, which typically focus on a new rule, decision, or similar news in relation to eHealth, healthcare technology, health information privacy or cybersecurity such as recent OCR guidance, newsletters or enforcement actions, developments from NIST or new state privacy law developments or enforcement actions (e.g., state-level HIPAA enforcement).

The eHealth, Privacy & Security Interest Group has a rotating schedule of volunteer authors who cover designated weeks a few times per year subject to volunteer availability. Submissions are generally short pieces of one or two paragraphs in length and are due by Wednesday to HLS staff for review, prior to being sent to HLS members on Friday of each week. Please feel free to contact eHealth, Privacy & Security IG Vice Chair, Promotion & Communication, Mitch Bennett at mitch.bennett@lw.com should you have any questions about HLBytes, the Interest Group or the opportunity to contribute.
