Margaret H. (“Peggy”) McCormick, is a principal of the immigration law firm of Minsky, McCormick & Hallagan, and practices exclusively in immigration and nationality law. She is past national president of the American Immigration Lawyers Association (1997-98) and was president of the American Immigration Law Foundation (now the American Immigration Council) from 1999 until 2003, which established the well-respected Immigration Policy Center under her leadership. She is an Honorary Fellow of the AIC. Ms. McCormick is a long-time member of the Chicago Chapter of the Federal Bar Association Board of Directors, currently serving as First Vice President, and has chaired the Workplace Enforcement and Immigration seminar on behalf of the FBA since 2006. She is also a Board member of the national Immigration Law Section of the FBA and chairs an annual conference on Citizenship in a Global Era in Rome, Italy, co-sponsored by Loyola and the FBA. An Adjunct Professor at Loyola Law School since 1986, she teaches Workplace Enforcement & Immigration and team-teaches a survey class on immigration law with the Hon. Robert D. Vinikoor. She is included in the Bar Register of Preeminent Lawyers, the International Who’s Who of Corporate Immigration Lawyers, Illinois Super Lawyers and is an Advisory Board member of the Leading Lawyers Network where she has been named one of the top 50 Women Business Lawyers in Illinois. She has been included in Woodward/White’s Best Lawyers in America for many years and they recently named her Chicago’s 2013 Immigration Lawyer of the Year.
