Abby Price, BSW

Social Work Intern

Abby Price, B.S.W. is excited to be a trainee with Loyola Community and Family Services. Abby is an Advanced Standing MSW student in her final year of her Master of Social Work program at Loyola University Chicago, specializing in Mental Health. Abby graduated with a Bachelor of Social Work degree from Loyola University Chicago. Abby’s first field placement prior to LCFS was at SociAbility in Northbrook, Illinois, where she led therapeutic social groups of all different age ranges to help those who struggle socially, mainly those with social anxiety, ADHD (Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder), and ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder). Abby’s other past experiences in the field of social work include a year she spent volunteering with RefugeeOne tutoring children during in-home visits, and her time volunteering for the Lakeview Food Pantry. Her professional interests include helping youth and adults by fostering safe and validating spaces for them to share their experiences, by encouraging the use of self-compassion and evidence-based skills to help them heal and grow, and by using a trauma-informed lens to help them achieve their goals. In her free time Abby enjoys playing the ukulele, songwriting, thrifted fashion, and spending time with her family and friends.
