Social Work Intern


Mads Heidgen, B.S. is excited to be a trainee at Loyola Community and Family Services. Mads uses they/them pronouns and is a second level intern completing their Master of Social Work degree with a specialization in advanced clinical practice at Loyola University Chicago. Mads earned a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from Iowa State University and worked in the civil engineering field for several years before changing paths and pursuing a career in social work. Mads completed their first level internship on Trilogy's Mobile Crisis Response Team, where they responded to and assisted individuals experiencing mental health crises in the community on the far north side of Chicago and Evanston. They currently work part-time on Trilogy's Mobile Crisis Response Team as a peer engagement specialist. Mads' professional interests include incorporating mindfulness techniques into clinical practice and working with the LGBTQ+ community. In their free time, Mads enjoys being outside, exploring Chicago's coffee offerings, practicing yoga, and going to concerts.
