Master of Health Professions Education (MHPE) & Certificate in Health Professions Education and Leadership Programs

Loyola University Chicago’s Stritch School of Medicine is preparing healthcare professionals to become effective educators and leaders through its graduate programs in Health Professions Education. The Master of Health Professions Education (MHPE) and Certificate in Health Professions Education and Leadership equip participants with the tools to design and implement effective curricula, assess learning outcomes, facilitate professional development, and lead with integrity in educational settings.

  • Master of Health Professions Education (MHPE)
  • Certificate in Health Professions Education and Leadership

Designed for working professionals, both programs are fully online, asynchronous, and part-time—offering the flexibility to advance your expertise without disrupting your clinical or academic responsibilities. Participants can choose from the MHPE, the certificate program, or select specialized courses that align with their professional goals.

The curriculum emphasizes teaching, assessment, curriculum development, and leadership, and is open to a diverse group of learners, including physicians, nurses, pharmacists, dentists, and graduate-level health professions students in their clinical years. Loyola’s innovative online learning environment fosters engagement, collaboration, and mentorship among faculty, peers, and national experts in health professions education.

Rooted in Jesuit values and a mission-driven commitment to social justice, these interdisciplinary programs prepare participants to lead meaningful change in healthcare education. By incorporating Ignatian pedagogy and culturally responsive teaching, the program fosters an inclusive and reflective approach to healthcare education.
