Summer School

Policy and Procedures

Summer school is not required, but many of our student-athletes opt for taking summer school -at least one summer session to help counterbalance the rigors and time constraints of their sport.  The office of Student-Athlete Academic Services adheres to the university policy regarding taking courses elsewhere.

Student-athletes who receive scholarship aid from athletics and who have an interest in receiving athletic aid to take courses at Loyola University during summer sessions must fill out a "Summer Athletic Aid Request" application and make an appointment to meet with their Athletic Academic Advisor to review their course selection before priority registration. During the scheduled meeting, an update of the student-athlete’s academic records is completed, and the "Summer Athletic Aid Request" form is filled out and classes are chosen by the student at that time. Student-Athletes who are not receiving athletic aid should also seek assistance from their Athletic Academic Advisor for guidance.
