Industrial Might

A Celebration of industrial might conquering nature

The TVA and the federal government underscored the benefits of the dam. As was the case with many other New Deal projects, newsreels celebrated the project and held it up as an industrial wonder.   In this era, whether it was writers affiliated with the Works Progress Administration or photographers documenting the nation rebounding from the depression, large-scale industrial projects were portrayed as things of beauty and symbols of the country reestablishing its economic might.
