What brought you to this work and why do you do this work?

Coming from K-12 public education and social services work, I saw the need for a return to what felt like home. As an Alumna, I have my own personal connection to this office and its programs. I’ve seen our space grow and evolve and have been a part of that journey in many ways. LUCES and Quest are two spaces that greatly impacted me in my undergraduate journey here at Loyola. I would not be the person I am today without the mentors and friends I made during my time here! Identity affirming mentorship is in alignment with career as a Social worker, and so currently my work with Women of Color initiatives brings me so much joy. Creating space for programs center on Women of Color and their navigation of higher education is so important to me. Sisterhood is also

What’s something you want students to feel when they enter your space?

I want students to feel affirmed in their identities when we connect. I also push students to explore themselves in a safe, yet challenging environment. I invite students to sit in my office and share their stories, because that allows me to build deep connections and help me best support you. I am a mentor who will push you to evolve into a version of yourself you may not have yet explored.

Outside of work, what’s something that brings you joy, grounding, or restoration?

Outside of work, dancing brings me joy. I often frequent different dance classes/studios around the city. When I'm not dancing, I’m often at home with my two cats and living partner watching a good reality tv show or si-fi/thriller.  thing new.
