Varun has worked in financial services extensively in the Enterprise Risk, Operational Risk and Strategic Risk Management space with emphasis on risk quantification, risk analytics and risk governance. He brings over twenty years experience both as an industry practitioner and a provider of consulting services to global banking organizations. He is currently a leader in the Enterprise Risk Management function at Western Alliance Bank, an innovative and fast paced growing bank based in Phoenix, AZ. He has previously worked for HSBC, JP Morgan Chase, and Deloitte in US, Canada and Europe.​​​​​Varun is a published author on varied topics in finance and risk management across US and Europe; presented at numerous industry conferences at both international and national levels. His educational qualifications include a Ph.D. in Economics, MS in Financial Economics and BS in Engineering. He also has a CFA Charter.
