I joined Loyola University Chicago in 2015 as the Provost of the Health Sciences Division. In 2017, I assumed the role of interim University Provost and Chief Academic Officer. In 2021 I became Provost and Chief Academic Officer of Loyola University Chicago serving through 2024. I spearheaded the development and launch of the Parkinson School for Health Sciences and Public Health, supported the expansion of research services across the university, and led numerous successful leadership recruitments. I previously served as the Senior Vice President for Strategy and Innovation at Loyola University of Chicago where I developed the first Office of Strategy and Innovation. As part of this role, I led the early development of the university’s strategic plan.

Prior to Loyola, I served as the interim provost at Marquette University (Milwaukee, WI) and dean and professor of the University’s College of Nursing. 

My research areas include: pain management, palliative/end-of-life care, and health policy. I am an elected fellow in the Institute of Medicine, Chicago, National Academies of Practice, and the American Academy of Nursing.
