Dean's Message
At the School of Continuing and Professional Studies (SCPS), we provide non-traditional students with affordable, accessible, and academically rigorous programs. U.S. News and World Report routinely ranks many of our academic programs number one in Chicago and among the nation’s Top 10. These distinctions are important to us at SCPS and reflect our ongoing commitment to ensure SCPS students enjoy the academic excellence and quality education long associated with Loyola University Chicago.
Through innovative programming, experienced faculty, and industry thought leaders, SCPS provides its students with the opportunity to pursue their passions, engage their intellect, and advance personally and professionally. Located on the Water Tower Campus in downtown Chicago, SCPS currently has more than 100 faculty and staff members—and we are continually expanding our community and our subject matter expertise to ensure an outstanding academic experience for our students.
We educate our students to become more reflective, active, and engaged citizens who strive to improve themselves and the world around them. We embrace Loyola’s Catholic and Jesuit values, heritage, and commitment to social justice while respecting the principles and traditions of every individual. Our personal attention to students embodies a distinct respect for their unique circumstances and an appreciation for their specific gifts and insights.
At SCPS, you are part of a learning community that values your voice, your story, and your aspirations. Our faculty and staff are not only educators but mentors—here to support your growth academically, professionally, and personally. As you begin this new chapter, I invite you to explore all that Loyola and SCPS have to offer—courses that challenge, communities that support, and a mission that inspires.
We believe in the life-changing power of education, and we believe in you.
Welcome to Loyola SCPS.
