Elementary Education MEd: Theatre Concentration

The MEd in Elementary Education with Theater Concentration program pairs Loyola's Department of Fine & Performing Arts with the School of Education via an exclusive partnership with the Chicago Public School (CPS) Teacher Residency Program. Teacher candidates are paired with expert CPS elementary and theater teachers who serve as mentors throughout the program. Candidates will be employed as full-time CPS teacher residents and provided a resident stipend of $40,000 by CPS.

This program is designed for students who have 18 earned credit hours of undergraduate coursework in theater. Upon completion of this degree and approval of ISBE endorsement in Elementary Education, candidates are eligible to apply through the state for an endorsement in theater.

This degree begins in the summer and takes one year to complete, allowing graduates to be eligible for full employment within CPS in the fall semester following program completion.
