Water Tower Campus - Staff Senators
In 2024, one staff member from the Water Tower Campus will be elected to University Senate. Below are the candidacy statements for the staff on the ballot.
Nancy Carr
Instructional Designer
School of Social Work
As an instructional designer in the School of Social Work, I am invested in strengthening collaboration among staff members and between faculty and staff. In addition to my year and a half at Loyola, I would bring to this role over 15 years of experience at an educational nonprofit organization in a range of positions. I see the primary goal of the Senate as providing Loyola leadership with an accurate view of staff viewpoints and concerns and would be honored to serve in that capacity.

Prior to having recently joined Loyola as a full-time staff member, I have been affiliated with Loyola for many years as both an Loyola alumnus (PhD '10) and an adjunct faculty member in the School of Education (Higher Education Administration program). I believe these experiences have allowed me to view Loyola from the multiple perspective that include staff, faculty, and student.
Caroline Gosselin

I have been at Loyola University for over 10 years, working both at the School of Continuing Studies as well as the School of Social Work. As an Undergraduate Academic Advisor and now the Manager of Extension Education at the School, I have an enlightened perspective on how we as a university can make a positive impact on both our students and our community. I would very much welcome the chance to expand my scope within the university as well as add value as a long term and dedicated member of the university-thank you.

Born into a heritage of community leaders on the south side of Chicago, I have dedicated my life to serving others. I believe my dedication to being a Community Organizer, Community Advisor, Community Influencer and Community Partner is what will make me a good representative on the University Senate.

As part of the first class of Arrupe College, I am well used to being the first in many spaces - first to do wrestling as a sport, first to explore Architecture as a career interest, first to go to college, first Arrupe grad to get Loyola's President's Medallion - and now first(?) Undocumented staff member at Loyola that is public about his immigration status. It is with this same spirit, of curiosity, fearlessness, and innovation that I hope to bring to the University Senate and hopefully to the University as a whole. The world is changing and amid all these changes, I am interested in exploring the opportunities that Loyola as a University can do to contribute, to its staff and faculty. It is time to pay it forward to the University that has contributed for the kid from the Southside of Chicago to get access to higher education.

Throughout my three years as a Loyola staff member, I have had a chance to work in two different departments that regularly collaborate with various campus partners across the university. I believe my previous and current role have provided me a basic understanding of how the school operationally functions. As an employee who is also using the tuition benefit to complete the Master of Public Policy program, I am passionate about participating in a governance system that demonstrates a commitment to fostering an effectively inclusive environment that supports the goals of our university's various committees and affinity groups. If chosen for this representative position - I would promote transparency and accountability by keeping my colleagues informed about senate proceedings, decisions, and initiatives, while also creating opportunities for others to provide input and feedback. Identical to my motivation for being a member of the Graduate, Professional, and Adult Council (GPAC) since Fall 2022, I am simply seeking an opportunity to foster positive change and improvement within the Loyola community.
Rochelle Robinson-Levant

I am an alumni of 2001 and have returned to lead the same program I graduated from. I am a minority leader in the law school and want to continue to share my support to contribute to and represent minority students in all schools within Loyola as a senate representative. Additionally I have been an Associate Dean in business programs and have a wide range of experience. My goal is to foster inclusivity while centering on student interests and create and maintain a space where staff feel valued and connected.

Isabel has a passion for improving equity in Higher Education. After receiving her Master's in Higher Education Administration from Northwestern University, she has eagerly taken a role in Loyola's Office of Institutional Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion to continue exploring ways to increase a sense of belonging at our institution of higher education. She is interested in taking on additional leadership roles at Loyola to continue expanding her impact in our Rambler community.

If granted a second term as senator, I will advocate for an enriching staff experience where our concerns are addressed through an equity lens that empowers engaged partnerships that reflect the university's Jesuit values.
