Great Plains Conference
MS Bioinformatics student Belinda Ofosu and senior Bioinformatics major Tooba Rizwan attended the Great Plains Bioinformatics conference of the International Society for Computational Biology in Omaha, held September 28-30, 2026. Tooba gave an oral presentation about her research titled “Integrating Deep Learning Regulatory Features with Single-cell Transcriptomes Identifies Cell-Type Specific Genes Associated with Skin Cancer” and Belinda presented a poster of her thesis project titled “Machine Learning for Antimalarial Resistance Prediction from Plasmodium falciparum Whole Genome Sequence Data.” Both are members of the Wheeler Lab at Loyola.
