Richard Hauser

 

Richard Hauser graduated in 2024 with a major in Data Science and minor in Finance.  He made the Dean’s list every semester that he was a student at Loyola University Chicago.  He had a poster accepted for presentation at the 2022 University of Connecticut Sports Analytics Conference (UCSAS) entitled “Hierarchical Clustering of UFC Fighters”. After graduation, Richard is currently pursuing a career in consulting or sports analytics. 

 

Leigha DeRango

 

Leigha DeRango graduated from the honors program in 2024 with a major in data science and completed her M.S. also in Data Science in 2025.  Leigha was on the Dean’s list in both of the last two semesters of her undergraduate studies, received a scholarship to attend the Cascadia Sports Analytics Symposium (CASSIS) in Vancouver, Canada, and was the programming coordinator for the mathematics and statistics club.  Prior to Loyola, Leigha graduated with highest honors from Rock Valley College during her senior year of high school, and she was also a Coca-Cola Scholars Program Silver Scholar in 2021.  While at Loyola, Leigha had summer internships with the Tampa Bay Rays of Major League Baseball (MLB) and The Hartford.  Leigha is currently employed as a Data Scientist with the Hartford where she has been for the past several years.  

 

Rachel Gordon is a first year graduate student enrolled in the MS Data Science program on the thesis track with an expected graduation date of 2024. She completed her undergraduate degree at Loyola in May of 2022 with a BS in Statistics and a minor in Data Science. She has interned with the Department of State and worked on several machine learning research projects involving natural language processing. Currently, Rachel is working as a research assistant with Dr. Mohammed Abuhamad.
