Currently, 20 faculty and staff members are enrolled in a year-long academic program about how to incorporate Ignatian Pedagogy into their work. Through participation in workshops, online discussions, reflection activities, a service project, and a final project, participants will take a deep dive into how to put Ignatian Pedagogy, a fundamental part of LUC’s mission, into practice in their work.
Currently, 30 faculty and staff members who will be teaching online or blended courses in spring 2019 or summer 2019 are enrolled in FCIP’s six week Online Teaching Course. The Online Teaching Course gives participants a broad base of skill and knowledge that they can use to design, deliver, and assess a successful and engaging online course at Loyola. While participants will consider a number of learning and design theories in the abstract, the activities and assignments are designed to have participants create (or revise) the materials for their own online courses.
FCIP is embarking on a strategic planning process to help us determine how our Center can best meet the needs of faculty and staff. We will be inviting past FCIP program participants and other constituents to discuss how they have benefited from FCIP’s services and what they would like to see FCIP do in the future.
