Supreme Court of the United States Group Admission and Swearing In Ceremony 2025

Loyola University Chicago School of Law is pleased to provide a special opportunity for alumni to apply for admission to the Bar of the Supreme Court of the United States and be sworn into the bar during an In-Court Admission Ceremony on an argument day before the entire Court.   

Alumni will be sworn in during an argument day at the Court by the Justices and recognized as Alumni from Loyola University Chicago School of Law. 

Our next group admission ceremony will take place on November 10, 2025 at 7:30 a.m., local time.   

APPLICATION INFORMATION

Alumni who have been practicing members of the highest court of a U.S. state for a minimum period of three years (immediately before the date of application) and have not been the subject of any adverse disciplinary action pronounced or in effect during that 3-year period and appear to the Court to be of good moral and professional character, are eligible to apply.  

Loyola University Chicago School of Law has 12 spots available. They will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis. 

Applications are expected to open in mid-Summer 2025, for questions or to be added to our notification list, please email LawAlumni@LUC.edu

Please note the following: 

The application requires two sponsors who are already members of the Bar of the Supreme Court of the United States. 

Sponsors must each be a member of the Bar of the Supreme Court whom you personally know but are not related to. 

If you need assistance with sponsors, please email Erin Baumann, Associate Director, Alumni Engagement at ebaumann@LUC.edu.  

You must also be able to obtain a certificate from the clerk, presiding judge, or other authorized official of the highest Court of a State, Commonwealth, Territory or Possession, or the District of Columbia evidencing the fact that you have been a member in good standing of the Bar of such for at least three years. Bar certificates are not accepted.
