FERPA

The Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act

The Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) prohibits an educational institution from releasing confidential, non-directory information about a student without a student's consent.

Students can waive this right when asking faculty or staff to write letters of recommendation or to serve as a reference. Use the below links to access the necessary forms required when requesting faculty or staff to serve as a reference or to write a letter of recommendation.
