AACSB extends accreditation for Quinlan

AACSB Accreditation Badge

AACSB accreditation recognizes the Quinlan School of Business’s excellence in teaching, research, and societal impact.

The Quinlan School of Business at Loyola University Chicago received an important international recognition in July. AACSB, which is known worldwide as the highest standard of quality for business schools, extended Quinlan’s accreditation for both business and accounting for another six years.

AACSB, which stands for the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business, accredits only 6 percent of institutions offering business degrees worldwide. Quinlan is one of only 195 institutions worldwide that are accredited for both business and accounting.

Rigorous accreditation process

Achieving AACSB accreditation is a mission-driven, rigorous process that includes an in-depth assessment of internal activities, and a peer-reviewed evaluation focused on continuous improvement.

“AACSB congratulates each institution on their achievement,” said Stephanie M. Bryant, executive vice president and chief accreditation officer of AACSB in a press release. “Every AACSB-accredited school has demonstrated a focus on excellence in all areas, including teaching, research, curricula development, and student learning. The intense peer-review process exemplifies their commitment to quality business education.”

Accreditation appeals to employers looking for top talent and signals to students that they are attending one of the best business schools in the world.

This recognition is not new for Quinlan. The school has been accredited by AACSB for undergraduate business since 1955 and for graduate business programs since 1980. The accounting program has been accredited by AACSB since 2001.

Internationally recognized

The AACSB accreditation extension joins a list of external recognitions of the transformational experience offered by the Quinlan School of Business. According to the most recent rankings by U.S. News & World Report, Quinlan:

“The Quinlan School of Business is Chicago’s business school for leaders who seek to have successful careers grounded by the values of responsible leadership,” says Michael Behnam, dean of the Quinlan School of Business. “AACSB accreditation and our top rankings recognize our long legacy of preparing students to make a positive social impact through business.”
