She/her/hers
Class of 2026 - Majoring in Environmental Science & Minoring in Sociology
Where are you from?
Cleveland, OH
What do you like to do?
Playing music, bike riding on Chicago’s lakeshore path, painting, and watching movies with my friends.
How are you involved in Community Service & Action?
I participated in the Ignatian Family Teach-In for Justice in 2022 and 2023.
Why do you engage in the community?
I engage with the community because it’s my favorite way to learn about the world around me. Through my environmental science education at Loyola, I have learned how we are all connected especially within our own communities; it’s so important to stay engaged with each other.
What is one of your favorite stories from your community engagement experiences?
My favorite memory is of the night before my Ignatian Family Teach-In delegation met with our senators in DC in 2023 to advocate for climate justice and immigration justice. We stayed up so late preparing and practicing our advocacy pitches and we were in the most obscure conference room deep in the basement of our hotel. Everyone was exhausted, laughing deliriously, but we all cared so deeply about the issues we were advocating for and the excitement and nervousness was palpable. The next day we were so ready to meet with our Senators.
How are you involved at Loyola outside of CSA?
I was a part of Loyola’s Urban Agriculture program for a year as a Garden Team-Leader. I taught interns, along with my other co-leaders, how to farm sustainably in our urban space. I learned so much in this year though my experience, and I learned so much from my interns as well. My favorite memory of this time were our huge harvests the Sunday before farmer’s markets where we were able to see all the produce and flowers we worked so hard to cultivate together.
What is your favorite place on campus?
The IC! I love seeing the lake while I get my work done, and it’s so cool to observe how the lake changes everyday.
What advice would you give to an incoming student at Loyola?
Don’t limit yourself…if you’re interested in something new, go for it.
