Ella Rain Cedeno

Student Worker

Ella is a second-year undergraduate student majoring in Public Health and minoring in Dance. She is from the Chicago suburbs, and she volunteered weekly all four years of high school as a Catechist Teacher for the CCD program at her local Catholic church.  When she entered Loyola as an incoming freshman and heard about the Saturday of Service that occurs during Welcome Week, she instantly knew that volunteering through the school was something she was thoroughly interested in. Community service is a passion of hers, and she knew right away that she had to get involved. After that, she became a part of CSA as a member of Loyola4Chicago, volunteering at Misericordia for both semesters of her freshman year. She had found such an inclusive, welcoming community within CSA and knew she wanted to continue contributing to the department, so she decided to apply for the CSA Student Worker position. Now, she plans to continue volunteering with L4C while also learning the background work that goes into making this program as special as it is.
