LOYOLA UNIVERSITY CHICAGO GRADUATE SCHOOL AT THE HEALTH SCIENCES CAMPUS CALENDAR, FALL SEMESTER, ACADEMIC YEAR 2026-2027
July 30	Orientation for new students.
August 3	Fall Semester classes begin.
August 3	Late/Change of Registration via LOCUS begins (Fee of $50.00 assessed by Bursar’s Office).
August 9	Late/Change of Registration via LOCUS ends.
August 10	Late/Change of Registration at the Graduate School Office CTRE, Rm. 140 begins. (Fee of $50.00 assessed by Bursar’s Office).
August 16	Last day to drop classes without a “W” grade.
September 7	Labor Day – Graduate School Office Closed.
October 1	Last day to submit initial format check of Thesis or Dissertation to The Graduate School Office, Health Sciences Campus, for the December 2026 degree conferral. Office staff will check for appropriate formatting.
October 23	Last day to drop classes with a grade of “W.”
November 1	Last day to submit final approved electronic copies of Thesis or Dissertations to The Graduate School Office, Health Sciences Campus, for December 2026 degree conferral.
November 2	Registration by LOCUS begins for Spring Semester 2027.
November 5	St. Albert’s Day Celebration – No Classes.
November 26-27	Thanksgiving Holiday - No Classes
December 1	Last day to file an Application to Receive a Degree for May 2027 degree conferral.
December 14 – 18	Fall Final Examinations.
December 18	End of Fall 2026 Semester.
SPRING SEMESTER, ACADEMIC YEAR 2026-2027
January 4 - May 21	Spring Semester 2027
February 1	Last day to file an Application to Receive a Degree for August 2027 degree conferral.
January 18	Martin Luther King Jr. Holiday - No Classes.
March 1	Last day to submit initial format check of Thesis or Dissertation to The Graduate School Office, Health Sciences Campus, for the May 2027 degree conferral. Office staff will check for appropriate formatting.
April 1	Last day to submit final approved electronic copies of Thesis or Dissertations to The Graduate School Office, Health Sciences Campus, for May 2027 degree conferral.
March 26	Good Friday
April 22	PhD students who are graduating in August 2027 but wish to participate in the May 2027 commencement must have their approved dissertation defense ballot on file in GSPS by this date. Master students who are graduating in August but wish to participate in commencement must have an approved thesis proposal on file in GSPS by this date.
June 1	Last day to submit initial format check of Thesis or Dissertation to The Graduate School Office, Health Sciences Campus, for the August 2027 degree conferral. Office staff will check for appropriate formatting.
July 1	Last day to submit final approved electronic copies of Thesis or Dissertations to The Graduate School Office, Health Sciences Campus, for August 2027 degree conferral.
