Loyola-Related International Travel Registration

All employees and graduate students traveling on Loyola-related international travel must be registered with the Office of Global and Community Engagement [OGCE] in our GoGlobal portal. Please complete the registration at least one month prior to your departure to allow ample processing time to OGCE.

The OGCE travel registration will require you to answer some questionnaires related to your travel plans, upload some required personal documentation, and include proof of departmental/unit approval for international travel. You will be prompted to self-enroll in the CISI travel insurance plan. This is a mandatory requirement for all Loyola-related business travel.

The Travel Registration is for faculty/staff traveling internationally for the following:

  • Research activities (such as field work or conferences abroad) that are part of your employment at Loyola,
  • Teaching activities (such as taking students abroad) that are part of your employment at Loyola,
  • Service activities (such as travel for professional organizations or student organizations abroad) that are part of your employment at Loyola, or
  • Administrative activities (such as travel for fundraising or athletics recruitment) that are part of your employment at Loyola.

The Travel Registration is not for travel for purposes of vacation or pleasure; travel for work outside your employment at Loyola; nor for travel for outside consultancies or work engaged on behalf of other institutions or companies.

CISI Insurance

The insurance covers possible situations applicable to international business travel that are rarely covered by your standard U.S.-based health insurance, such as emergency medical, environmental disaster, or civil disturbance evacuation.  Familiarize yourself with the Loyola CISI Brochure for details on the insurance plan. Participants will receive their insurance card and policy details in their @luc.edu email at least one week prior to the start of your program.  Please monitor your inbox for a message from the email domain @culturalinsurance.com.

Once enrolled, login to your myCISIportal where you can access important insurance documents and emergency contact information as well as purchase optional trip interruption coverage.  Click here for the myCISI Participant Portal Guide and the myCISI Traveler App Guide once you're enrolled in the insurance policy.

Insurance costs are covered by the LUC Business Traveler or sponsoring department. Should you wish to enroll a dependent, that cost may not covered by the sponsoring department, but can be added as supplemental insurance at a charge to the participant. Additional travelers shall in no way be subsidized by Loyola.  Additional travelers traveling with Loyola employees/students on Loyola-related international travel do so at their own risk and volition.  The Loyola CISI policies don't extend to spouses, dependents, or other guests.
