CPKC: Continuous Rail Movement from Mexico through Canada
Watch a recording of the webinar
In this webinar, Rob Liss, Vice President of MAKA Logistics, explored the historic merger between Canadian Pacific Kansas City (CPKC) and Kansas City Southern, creating North America’s first transnational railroad network connecting Canada, the United States, and Mexico.
The presentation examined the significance of the 2023 merger, the history behind the formation of the new rail network, and the broader implications for international trade across North America. Rob discussed how a unified rail line stretching from Mexico City to Montreal and Vancouver could reshape freight movement, supply chain strategy, and cross-border commerce.
Participants also gained insight into the opportunities and challenges facing CPKC as it works to compete with over-the-road (OTR) transportation and position rail as a more efficient long-term transportation solution.
