Host a Voting Event
Loyola Votes is part of a University-wide initiative where we encourage students, faculty, and staff to not only promote the importance of voting, but to also encourage the Loyola community to host their own voter registration events. To continue the consistent message of Loyola Votes, the Loyola University Public Engagement Task Force (LUPE) has created the "Toolkit Bundle" – your resource for downloadable information, images, and tools. If you use any of the above resources, it is expected that you have reviewed all of the guidelines for civic engagement participation at Loyola.
Though we take pride in the strength of our “Loyola Votes” brand, we also encourage academic departments and student groups to make this work their own. In 2018, the Dance Department created a “Dance the Vote” video to remind students about the midterm elections. The School of Environmental Sustainability offered voter registration at the Farmer’s Market they organize. Student groups were heavily involved in this work too, running their own workshops and registrations. We amplify and support these efforts, as we are “One Loyola” with the common goal of total voter registration and participation of those who are eligible.
Civic engagement is part of a transformative education in the Jesuit tradition. Loyola does not endorse or support any political party or candidate. All voter registration activities should be non-partisan.
