Teaching Assistant Professor

I completed my bachelor’s and doctoral degrees at The University of Alabama. My graduate work was in evolutionary genomics, where I used bioinformatics tools to understand the evolution of genetic diversity and genome structure in Caenorhabditis worms. During my postdoc at Auburn University, I transitioned to focus on discipline-based education research (DBER). My research focuses on improving undergraduate biology education and the impacts of including science and society content in undergraduate biology courses. I am jointly appointed as a Teaching Assistant Professor in the Biology Department and the Women’s Studies and Gender Studies Program at Loyola University Chicago.
