About

Tony joined Loyola in July of 2022. His responsibilities include providing support and guidance for students, faculty and staff regarding the university’s summer sessions, January-term, and faculty-led study abroad courses.

Prior to Loyola, Tony served as the Director of Programs at Windy City Harvest and Chicago Botanical Gardens. He has held a variety of teaching, research, advising and leadership roles at a number of institutions around Chicagoland, including University of Illinois Chicago, City Colleges of Chicago, Richard J. Daley College, Illinois Institute of Art and the College of DuPage. He is currently pursuing his PhD at UIC in sociology and holds master’s degrees from UIC and Northeastern Illinois University in sociology and higher education leadership, respectively.

Tony was a double major in English and sociology during his time as an undergraduate student at Augustana College. He was born and raised on the Southside of Chicago and currently resides in Willow Springs with his wife, Marisela, and children, Mateo Valentín and Teodoro Oso.
