What We Believe

Vision

A community that serves humanity through life-long learning.

Mission

Grounded in our Jesuit mission and values, the Center for Faculty Development cultivates the growth and success of all Loyola faculty through collaboration, leading-edge programming, and advocacy. Modeling Ignatian principles of curiosity, innovation, and inclusion, the members of the Center accompany faculty across their careers. We collaborate with campus partners to provide a holistic and integrated ecosystem of opportunities that enrich all aspects of a faculty member’s professional experiences, from teaching to research to leadership to service. We are committed to creating transformative lifelong learning environments that promote and celebrate faculty excellence, student success, and Loyola’s mission to serve humanity.

Values

Our work with and for the Loyola community to promote life-long learning is guided by

Collaboration that brings out the best in each of us and achieves our highest shared ambitions through inclusive cooperation;

Curiosity that inspires our inquiry-based research and compassion for others;

Innovation that promotes creative exploration, experimentation, learning, and growth to meet the needs of our community;

Joy that animates imagination, resistance, play, and celebration through the pursuit of learning, research, and actualization; and

Excellence that embodies the expansive, equitable spirit of Ignatian Magis, continuously expanding access to more transformative opportunities.
