New Faculty Orientation
New Faculty Orientation
The Office of the Provost and the Loyola community look forward to welcoming new faculty each year. Through teaching, research, service, and leadership, Loyola faculty catalyze the University's mission by "working to expand knowledge in the service of humanity through learning, justice, and faith" (Mission).
New Loyola faculty join a diverse community of colleagues and a rich network of support services and resources, all united in fostering a deep sense of belonging and purpose "for the great good" so that all faculty, and by extension all students, can thrive and succeed (Strategic Plan).
In joining Loyola, new faculty enter into a university where Ignatian values are often put into action through community, through being people "for and with others" (Arrupe, 1973).

New Faculty Orientation: A Year-long Experience
Because of the importance of creating a community of belonging at Loyola, New Faculty Orientation is a year-long experience so that new faculty have the time and space to learn about and deepen their connections with the Loyola community. Throughout the year, new faculty are invited to a range of customized and timely programming that connects them with offices and resources while creating more opportunities to strengthen their bonds with other new faculty. The year-long orientation sessions are open to all new full-time and part-time faculty. Details about 2026-2027 new faculty programming coming soon!

New Faculty Orientation Kickoffs
Starting with New Faculty Orientation Kickoff, which takes place during the two weeks before the new academic year, new faculty come together as a cohort to start building relationships with each other and learning about some of the essential people, services, and policies they need to succeed. The Provost's Office offers separate kickoff events for full- and part-time faculty to ensure they are receiving the information most relevant to their roles.
