Behavioral Health Workforce Education and Training Program (B-WEP)

The Behavioral Health Workforce Education and Training Program at Loyola University Chicago (B-WEP@LUC) will enhance training for students preparing to become behavioral health professionals focused on the screening, assessment, and treatment of individuals at risk of behavioral health issues with a focus on marginalized communities and medically underserved settings. This will be accomplished by creating cutting-edge curriculum and field-based training opportunities for second-year/advanced standing MSW social work students to include a stipend, establishing relationships with community-based partners to increase access to quality behavioral health services in high-need areas of Cook County, and developing interprofessional training opportunities through partnership with the Marcella Niehoff School of Nursing at Loyola University Chicago.
