Graduate Programs

Thank you for considering our M.A. degree program in Criminal Justice and Criminology.

The faculty invite you to explore our supportive and stimulating educational environment. The M.A. degree program is a 31 hour program with five required courses and five elective courses. Students may choose to attend full-time or part-time. Classes are offered in the evening to accommodate employed students. The department offers a general M.A. degree that prepares students to excel in today's evidence-based criminal justice system. Students have much flexibility in choosing their elective classes. Through courses, special activities and presentations, students acquire more advanced administrative and intellectual knowledge as well as an understanding of how to critique crime statistics and evaluate research findings about the strengths and weaknesses of specific policies or programs.

The department is well connected to the local criminal justice system as well as federal agencies. Graduates have been placed in all areas of the criminal justice system including federal agencies such as the FBI, Secret Service, Federal Probation, Homeland Security, Federal Pretrial Services and DEA. I invite you to apply on-line and/or contact, Dr. Maribeth Rezey, Graduate Program Director, at mrezey@luc.edu if you have additional questions about our program.
