Richard Hauser

 

Richard Hauser is a junior majoring in Data Science and minoring in Finance with an expected graduation date of 2024.  He has made the Dean’s list every semester that he has been a student at Loyola University Chicago.  He recently had a poster accepted for presentation at the 2022 University of Connecticut Sports Analytics Conference (UCSAS) entitled “Hierarchical Clustering of UFC Fighters”. After graduation, Richard plans to pursue a career in consulting or sports analytics. 

 

Leigha DeRango

 

Leigha DeRango is a second year undergraduate student enrolled in the honors program and majoring in data science.  She is planning to participate in the Loyola University Chicago Data Science 4+1 program with 2024 and 2025 as expected completion dates for her undergraduate and graduate studies, respectively.  Leigha was on the Dean’s list in both of the last two semesters, recently received a scholarship to attend the Cascadia Sports Analytics Symposium (CASSIS) in Vancouver, Canada, and is the programming coordinator for the mathematics and statistics club.  Prior to Loyola, Leigha graduated with highest honors from Rock Valley College during her senior year of high school, and she was also a Coca-Cola Scholars Program Silver Scholar in 2021. 

 

 

Rachel Gordon is a first year graduate student enrolled in the MS Data Science program on the thesis track with an expected graduation date of 2024. She completed her undergraduate degree at Loyola in May of 2022 with a BS in Statistics and a minor in Data Science. She has interned with the Department of State and worked on several machine learning research projects involving natural language processing. Currently, Rachel is working as a research assistant with Dr. Mohammed Abuhamad.
