Triple Clear Water Filters

At Loyola University Chicago campuses, the drinking water sourced from the Metropolitan Water Reclamation District of Greater Chicago consistently meets or exceeds state, federal, and industry standards for quality. Loyola University Chicago is enhancing water quality across its campuses with Triple Clear® filters. Throughout ’23 winter break, the installation of water filters began, with completion anticipated by the end of ’24 summer break. Triple Clear® water filters will be integrated into bottle fill water stations across all campuses.

As part of the filter program, stickers with a QR code have been placed over a series of three lights on the bottle fill water stations. These lights, which are green, yellow, and red, are not indicators of water quality but rather timers (based on gallons) signaling when the filter should be changed according to the manufacturer's recommendations. Additionally, a single green "ticker light" tracks the number of 20-ounce bottles saved through the use of bottle fill stations. When there are no filters installed, the three lights on the units will not function. Upon the installation of Triple Clear® filters, these lights will remain non-functional, as the properties of the filter will dictate when a replacement is needed.

Triple Clear® water filters utilize advanced "force field" technology, effectively removing up to 99.9999% of viruses, bacteria, and parasites. This innovative technology acts like a magnet, attracting and trapping naturally occurring negatively charged contaminants, thereby providing safe, clean drinking water with improved taste, odor, and clarity.
