Center for Translational Research and Education Construction Update

November 16, 2015

Dear Loyola Health Sciences Community,

The construction of our new Center for Translational Research and Education (CTRE) is on schedule, and along with our partners at Loyola University Health System and Trinity Health, we are excited for the next steps in this project.

As we begin to plan for the opening, please keep the following in mind:

  • The construction teams are still at work in the building, therefore access to the CTRE is prohibited. This is the most complex building the University has ever built and it’s important that no one interrupts our progress at this very critical time.
  • Our project management team is coordinating deliveries and installation of items such as furniture and equipment. This is in progress and scheduled to be complete by the end of the year.
  • Employee move-in will begin in January. Each department has been notified of their move-in date and will continue to be updated in the weeks ahead.
  • We are meeting with each department to review the specifics of their equipment and space allocation.

Thank you for your patience as we work through this complex project. Once complete, the CTRE will allow advances in research and improved patient care to be realized through partnerships between Stritch, Niehoff, and the Loyola University Health System. We appreciate your ongoing collaboration with the building move-in and beyond.

Please also save the date for a three-day CTRE grand opening celebration April 21-23. Stay tuned for additional event details.

If you have any questions about move-in or construction progress, please contact Peter Schlecht at pschlecht@LUC.edu.

Sincerely,

Steve Bergfeld
