Thomas R. Mulroy (JD ’73)

The Honorable Thomas R. Mulroy (JD ’73) became the 141stpresident of the Chicago Bar Association at its annual business meeting and luncheon in June 2017. Judge Mulroy is a trial judge in the Cook County Law Division’s Commercial Calendar Section, where he was directly responsible for implementing a successful mandatory arbitration program for cases under $75,000 and is now the supervising judge. Prior to becoming a judge in 2007, Judge Mulroy served as an Assistant United States Attorney and then as a partner at Jenner & Block. Judge Mulroy is a fellow in the American College of Trial Lawyers and currently serves as a member of Loyola University Chicago School of Law’s Alumni Board of Governors. In 2004, he established the Thomas R. Mulroy Prize for Excellence in the Area of Evidence to recognize a Loyola law student each semester who achieves the highest level of excellence in the area of Evidence. A monetary award accompanies the recognition which is presented each year by Judge Mulroy in his chambers.
