MLS Immersion Experience
The Medical Laboratory Science Summer Immersion program is an opportunity for college students or graduates to explore the field of Medical Laboratory Science in-person on the Maywood campus of Loyola University Chicago. This three day experience will provide a basic introduction to the different disciplines and skills used in clinical laboratory medicine. Participants will explore the areas of Chemistry, Immunology, Urinalysis, Microbiology, Hematology and Blood Bank and utilize laboratory information to help in the diagnosis and guide treatment decisions in case-based learning scenarios.
The 2024 Immersion program will take place May 15, 2024 -May 17, 2024 and is open to people over the age of 18. Interested individuals should submit an application for consideration in the 2024 experience. A limited number of spots are available for this opportunity. Upon review of your completed application, the Medical Laboratory Science Immersion faculty will confirm via email if you have been accepted for the 2024 experience and send a registration packet. A non-refundable $10.00 deposit is required as part of the registration to reserve your place in the program.
The total cost of the MLS Immersion experience is $10 and will include parking, lunch, and training materials.
Those who successfully complete the program will receive a certificate of participation and a guaranteed an interview for the Fall 2024 or Fall 2025 application cycle for the M.S. in Medical Laboratory Science degree and Medical Laboratory Science Clinical Certificates upon submission of a completed Loyola University Graduate Program application.
